Freelance Online Interior Design Tutor – Remote

We are a leading provider of high-quality Interior Design courses, offering online/distance learning and blended learning programmes.

We are currently seeking an experienced Interior Design professional to join our Academic Team as a Freelance Online Class Tutor.

This is a fully remote freelance role. Classes typically take place one evening per week or two Saturdays per month for the duration of an intake. We run three student intakes per year, with additional weekday evening teaching opportunities available.

All course content and class presentations are provided, allowing tutors to focus on delivering engaging classes and supporting students.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive live online Interior Design classes using the course content and presentations provided.
• Provide support, guidance and tuition to students, drawing on your professional industry experience and knowledge.
• Provide constructive in-class feedback and practical guidance to support students' development.
• Encourage students' creativity, design thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Explain Interior Design concepts, processes and professional practices clearly and effectively.
• Provide feedback to the Senior Academic Operations Manager and Academic Team on student progress and the class experience, when required.
• Maintain awareness of current Interior Design trends, industry developments and best practice.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related discipline from a recognised academic institution. Proof of qualification will be required.
• Ideally a minimum of 4 years' relevant Interior Design industry experience, with a portfolio demonstrating professional skills and experience.
• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and SketchUp, with the ability to support students at beginner and intermediate level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence working remotely and using online platforms to deliver live classes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an Academic Team.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring or training experience would be an advantage.
• A relevant teaching/training or pedagogy qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
