Job Description: Intermediate Accountant

Position Overview

The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for performing full-cycle accounting including Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable functions and managing month-end close across multiple entities. This role is with a US-based private equity group with operations focused in the cloud computing industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring correct coding, flow through required approvals, and complete records

• Maintain vendor records, reconcile vendor statements, and respond to vendor inquiries

• Support accounts receivable tasks including preparing & sending customer invoices, applying payments, and ensuring timely collections

• Assist with monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, AP, AR, and other general ledger accounts

• Support the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

• Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls

• Provide ad hoc support to the Senior Accountant and Controller as needed

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 1–3 years of accounting experience, AP experience desirable

• Experience working in a multi-entity or fast-paced environment is an asset

• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles

• Proficiency with accounting software and intermediate to advanced Excel skills

• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to tasks

• High degree of professionalism, accuracy, and reliability

Working hours

• 16:00 to 24:00 South African Standard Time

Salary

• R20,000.00 - R22,000.00 Per Month
