Intern – Commodity Market Analysis

Job description
Afriforesight, a leading commodity markets research firm and trusted advisor to policymakers, mining houses, and industrial service providers is embarking on an exciting new phase in our journey.
We are looking for interns to assist our team of multi-disciplinary experts in their analysis and forecasting of global and domestic mined commodity markets – tasks will include original research, as well as monitoring, capturing and presenting data.
This position is ideally suited for someone interested in global economic and political events; you will have regular engagement with a dynamic team of economists, engineers, and geologists.
This is a part time role, with candidates expected to be available for at least 3 half-days a week or 2 full days.
Minimum Requirements
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Statistics or STEM disciplines at a recognized university (a graduate enrolled in a post-graduate degree is an advantage)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with solid working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft tools.
· Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the highest level of accuracy in all deliverables
· Strong research and organizational skills, adept at synthesizing information and managing complex data.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Additional Advantages
- Familiarity with multimedia editing/data visualization tools (including Power BI)
- Other relevant work experience.
