An exciting opportunity has become available for an Internal Auditor to join a diversified organisation operating across the retail, manufacturing and industrial sectors.

This is a great opportunity for a newly qualified CA(SA) or candidate with up to one year post-articles experience who is looking to gain broad commercial exposure and take ownership of meaningful audit assignments.

The role is Johannesburg-based, with the opportunity to work across various business operations and travel to key cities across South Africa.

You’ll gain valuable exposure to a diversified commercial group, working across multiple sectors and business operations. The role offers the opportunity to apply your CA(SA) training in a practical environment, engage directly with senior management, and develop your internal audit and commercial skill set.

Duties:

• Assessing business processes to identify key risks and controls.
• Evaluating the internal control environment and developing audit programmes.
• Conducting audits to identify control deficiencies, potential fraud, regulatory gaps and deviations from policies and procedures.
• Preparing detailed working papers, computations and audit reports.
• Providing practical recommendations to improve controls and business processes.
• Handling complex audit elements and issues escalated by management.
• Presenting audit findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Building strong professional relationships with key stakeholders.
• Supporting the implementation of recommendations and conducting follow-up audits.
• Contributing to process improvements and the development of the broader audit team.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting
• BCom Honours / CTA
• CA(SA)

Experience:

• Newly qualified to 1 year post-articles experience.
• Exposure to retail, manufacturing or industrial environments would be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk and audit methodologies.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Strong report-writing and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commercially minded with strong business acumen.
• Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently.
• High attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Comfortable working towards targets and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time within South Africa.
