Job description
Role Purpose:
To manage and support the end-to-end recruitment process by sourcing, attracting and appointing high-quality talent aligned with the business needs and Employment Equity objectives of Merchant West Holdings, while ensuring an efficient, compliant and positive recruitment experience for candidates and hiring managers.
Main Accountabilities:
- Talent Acquisition
- Average time-to-fill vacancies within agreed organisational target (e.g. 30–45 days depending on role level)
Percentage of vacancies successfully filled within agreed recruitment timelines (target e.g.* 90%)
Quality of hire measured through hiring manager satisfaction or probation success rate (target e.g.* 85%)
- Effective sourcing of qualified candidates measured by shortlist-to-interview ratio
- Completion of recruitment processes in accordance with approved recruitment procedures
- Successful onboarding coordination ensuring all recruitment documentation completed prior to start date
- Employment Equity & Compliance
- Recruitment processes aligned with the organisation’s Employment Equity targets and transformation objectives
- Percentage of recruitment shortlists that include suitably qualified designated group candidates
- Compliance with internal recruitment governance and approval processes (100% compliance)
- Maintenance of accurate recruitment documentation and audit trails
- Contribution to achievement of annual Employment Equity hiring targets
- Adherence to labour legislation and fair recruitment practices
- Candidate Assessment & Selection
- Quality of candidate shortlists aligned with job requirements and hiring manager expectations
- Effective coordination of interviews and assessments within agreed timelines
- Accuracy and completeness of candidate screening including qualifications and reference checks
- Successful completion of candidate assessments in line with company recruitment standards
- Reduction in failed hires during probation period
- Positive candidate experience feedback throughout the recruitment process
- Recruitment Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Preparation and submission of accurate recruitment reports within agreed reporting timelines
- Regular communication and progress updates provided to hiring managers during recruitment processes
- Hiring manager satisfaction with recruitment support and service delivery
- Maintenance of accurate recruitment pipeline and vacancy tracking records
- Effective coordination with HR, hiring managers and external recruitment partners
- Identification and reporting of recruitment trends, challenges and improvement opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources Management
Experience:
- 3–5 years’ experience in talent acquisition or recruitment within a corporate or agency environment
- Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes from sourcing to offer stage
- Experience sourcing and screening candidates using multiple recruitment channels
- Experience coordinating interviews and managing recruitment processes with hiring managers
- Experience ensuring recruitment practices align with Employment Equity and compliance requirements
- Experience maintaining recruitment records, candidate databases, and recruitment reports
