INTERNAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE – PAARL

Diesel-Electric is currently inviting applications from motivated and experienced Internal Sales Representatives for opportunities at our Paarl branch. Suitable candidates will be considered for current and upcoming positions, depending on operational requirements and available vacancies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales

• Proactively contact customers via email or telephone to advise on promotions, market product lines and facilitate sales representative visits where needed.
• Manage credit returns within the required company limit and ensure specially ordered goods are marked as non-returnable.
• Consistently achieve monthly sales targets.
• Accurately complete invoices using the correct sales code and customer details.
• Open COD accounts for counter cash-sale customers to expand the customer database.
• Update and release backorders, ensuring orders are placed and followed up for customers.

Customer Service

• Provide prompt updates on logistical, delivery or supply issues that may affect customers.
• Communicate potential account problems, including credit-limit concerns, to your line manager.
• Greet and assist customers promptly and provide timely feedback on messages, calls and quotations.
• Ensure that the correct parts are supplied to customers and do not unnecessarily refer customers to competitors.
• Process customer claims and returns through the appropriate channels and in accordance with company procedure.

Administration

• Update customer information and maintain accurate records of claims and credits.
• Complete lost-sales reports for products that could not be supplied or were not competitively priced.
• Attend stocktakes, company functions and trade evenings as required.
• Maintain a neat and organised workstation and adhere to company dress-code and appearance standards.
• Perform reasonable ad-hoc duties as requested by the Branch Manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Proven sales experience in a similar automotive parts role.
• Proven ability to consistently achieve sales targets set by management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and multitasking ability.
• Automotive industry and product knowledge will be advantageous.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
• Computer literacy and experience with an automotive parts system will be advantageous.
