OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Internal Sales Consultant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in short-term insurance, excellent client service skills, and the ability to manage the end-to-end new business process while consistently achieving sales targets.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3–5 years' experience in a similar Internal Sales or Personal Lines/Commercial Sales role within the short-term insurance industry.
  • Relevant insurance qualification.
  • Regulatory Examination (RE5) completed.
  • Class of Business completed.
  • Sound knowledge of FAIS legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate and manage new business opportunities from referrals, leads and existing client relationships.
  • Obtain quotations from multiple insurers through effective market approaches.
  • Compare quotations, policy benefits, exclusions and pricing to identify the most suitable solution for each client.
  • Present quotations professionally and provide clients with appropriate advice based on their needs and risk profile.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met before policy inception, including FAIS disclosures, Record of Advice and all required documentation.
  • Prepare and submit complete new business files in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Upload and maintain all compliance documentation and new business files on the company's document management systems.
  • Maintain and update the new business and sales tracking spreadsheets.
  • Liaise with insurers to negotiate terms, obtain additional quotations and resolve underwriting queries.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations and convert opportunities into successful sales.
  • Ensure policies are issued accurately and within agreed service levels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers and business partners.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers and other internal departments to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Ensure accurate data capturing and maintenance of client records.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales and conversion targets.
  • Participate in product training and remain up to date with insurer products, market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Assist with ad hoc sales and business development initiatives as required.

  • Client satisfaction and retention.
  • Accuracy of reporting and data management.
