Internal Sales Consultant – Technical / Product Sales - JHB South

Not your typical internal sales desk job.

Our client is a well-established supplier of thermal, acoustic and fire-protection insulation products to the construction and industrial sectors, and they are looking for someone who can combine strong customer service with genuine commercial instinct.

This role suits someone who enjoys learning products, preparing accurate quotations, solving customer problems and turning enquiries into long-term business.

What you'll be doing

• Handling customer enquiries, quotations and sales orders
• Following up quotations and converting opportunities into orders
• Providing customers with practical product guidance
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts
• Proactively generating new business
• Liaising with suppliers on pricing, availability and delivery
• Coordinating with warehouse and dispatch teams
• Maintaining accurate sales records and administration
• Using digital and AI tools to work smarter and improve customer engagement

What we're looking for

• Matric
• 2–3+ years' internal sales/customer service experience
• Experience in a technical, industrial, construction or product-based sales environment
• Strong quotation and order-processing experience
• Confident telephone and customer communication skills
• Commercially minded — comfortable following up and asking for the business
• Strong attention to detail and administration
• Microsoft Office experience
• Sage Pastel Partner experience advantageous
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
• Someone resilient, adaptable, accountable and comfortable working in a busy team environment

Particularly relevant experience

Exposure to construction materials, insulation, roofing, industrial products, building supplies, hardware, manufacturing or other technical products would be highly advantageous.

You don't necessarily need to know insulation already — but you must be able and willing to learn a technical product range properly.

Package

Initial 3–4 month fixed-term contract, with the intention of permanent employment for the right person.

Approximate take-home package during the contract: R14,500 net per month.

On permanent appointment, the package is approximately R286,770 annual CTC, incorporating a R19,150 monthly gross salary plus compulsory employment benefits including medical aid, provident fund and funeral cover.
