Job Advert Summary

Macsteel Trading Gqeberha is seeking a suitably qualified and customer-focused Internal Sales employee to support sales, customer service and profitability objectives through accurate quotation management, order processing, sales administration and customer communication.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery and customer requirements are met.

Minimum Requirements

• NQF Level 4–5, Grade 12 plus Higher Certificate in Sales, Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an internal sales environment.
• Experience in sales administration, quotations, customer service and order processing.
• Experience in and knowledge of all Macsteel products including Roofing and VRN
• Contracts or projects experience will be advantageous.
• SAP experience.
• MS Excel and MS Word proficiency.
• Ability to cope under pressure.
• Accountability and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service, sales, communication and relationship-building skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Performance and Commercial Delivery

• Prepare accurate quotations and sales orders in line with customer requirements and company procedures.
• Maintain pricing and gross profit discipline within approved parameters.
• Support sales targets through effective follow-up, customer service and order conversion.
• Manage contract pricing, project quotations and routine customer commercial requirements within delegated authority.

Operational Coordination and Service Delivery

• Communicate with Purchasing, Production and Distribution to support customer commitments.
• Monitor order progress, outstanding orders and delivery requirements.
• Communicate order status, delays and service-related issues to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Escalate stock, delivery or operational constraints that may impact customer service.

Financial Performance and Cost Management

• Ensure accurate pricing, order capture, contract adjustments and supporting documentation.
• Prepare documentation for credit and debit notes in line with approved procedures.
• Minimise administrative errors, rework and pricing deviations.
• Provide accurate information for quotations, tenders, projects and customer account requirements.

Customer Service and Stakeholder Support

• Provide professional support to customers, sales colleagues and internal departments.
• Build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships through clear communication and timely feedback.
• Resolve or escalate customer queries professionally and within agreed timeframes.
