Introduction

VKB Milling (Pty) Ltd is one of four subsidiaries of VKB Agri Processors (Pty) Ltd, the agri-processing division of the VKB Group. VKB Milling (Pty) Ltd operates white maize mills in Mokopane and Louis Trichardt in Limpopo, and Mashishing in Mpumalanga, as well as a wheat mill and bakery in Frankfort in the Free State.

JOB FUNCTION

The Inventory Clerk assists with stock control activities, maintains accurate stock records, performs stock counts, updates systems, and supports inventory integrity within the warehouse environment clerks as well as ensures compliance with company policies and ensuring adherence to Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12/ Std 10 / NQF Level 4
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with stock counting and stock reconciliation
  • Commitment to safety and quality procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • 1.Inventory Management and Stock Control

    • Assist with receiving, issuing, transferring, and recording stock transactions accurately and timeously.

    • Monitor inventory levels and report stock shortages, variances, and discrepancies.

    • Maintain and update inventory documentation, records, and system transactions.

    • Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of raw materials, packaging materials, maintenance stock, vitamins, and consumables.

    • Process and post stock adjustments relating to workshop and warehouse operations.

    • Manage stock transfers between warehouse, workshop, breakbulk, and stationery stores.

    • Maintain accurate records of poison store inventory and usage.

    • Capture and reconcile vitamin usage records.

    • Conduct inventory verification and support cycle counts and stock takes.2.Production and Inventory Processing

    • Post Production 1, Production 2, and Production 3 transactions accurately.

    • Capture production data into the inventory management system.

    • Process and post Mix Back 1 and Mix Back 2 transactions.

    • Capture mix back inventory movements.

    • Post and capture Mix to Chop transactions.

    • Post workshop journals and relevant inventory transactions.

    • Ensure all production-related inventory movements are reflected accurately within required timelines.3.Reporting and Administration

    • Prepare and maintain packaging material reports.

    • Compile cost analysis reports and inventory-related performance reports.

    • Generate workshop rand reports and inventory consumption reports.

    • Update supplier tracking spreadsheets and daily inventory records.

    • Maintain stationery usage records for Mokopane operations.

    • Update stationery pricing records for Vembe Milling.

    • Ensure all inventory reports are submitted accurately and within required deadlines.4.Procurement and Supplier Coordination

    • Raise purchase orders for poison store requirements.

    • Liaise with suppliers regarding raw material queries and stock-related concerns.

    • Assist with supplier communication regarding deliveries and inventory discrepancies.

    • Coordinate truck bookings to support inbound and outbound logistics activities.

    • Monitor and track contractor compliance with SAFEX registration requirements and company standards.Compliance & Safety

    • Full compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, and biosecurity requirements

    • Proper application of site procedures for rejected, segregated, or restricted grain loads

    • Prompt reporting of incidents, hazards, and non-conformances

    • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP procedures throughout the grading area.

    • 20keys schedule and updating the boardCellphone Usage

    • With regards to the use of cell phones in work premises, refer to the VKB CELL PHONE PROCEDURE.

      • General & Ad-hoc Responsibilities
    • Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by, Business Unit Manager, or designated stand-in.
