Job description
Duroplastic/Roofmart George Branch is currently looking for an Inventory Controller. As an Inventory Controller you will be responsible to manage stock levels by tracking incoming/outgoing goods, performing counts (cycle & full), reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining accurate digital records to ensure product availability, minimizing losses, and support operations, often involving reporting, system use, and collaboration with internal teams. Key duties include monitoring levels, conducting audits, generating reports, and implementing procedures for smooth inventory flow, from raw materials to finished goods
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and verify goods received against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices
- Inspect incoming stock for quantity, quality, condition, batch/lot numbers, and expiry dates
- Ensure all received items are properly labelled, recorded, and stored according to warehouse procedures
- Check and authorize goods dispatched against picking lists, sales orders, and transfer documentation
- Confirm correct items, quantities, and documentation prior to dispatch to prevent errors
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records in the warehouse management/ERP system
- Track all stock movements including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and investigate discrepancies
- Prevent and report stock losses, damages, shrinkage, and obsolete inventory
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports to Head Office
- Report goods received, goods dispatched, stock balances, and variances accurately and on time
- Reconcile warehouse physical stock with Head Office system records
- Submit stock aging, slow-moving, and expiry reports to support replenishment planning
- Escalate inventory discrepancies, operational risks, and delivery issues to Head Office
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory documentation
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, procurement, sales, and Head Office teams
- Ensure compliance with company policies, inventory controls, and safety standards
- Recommend process improvements to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency

- Physical ability for some roles (lifting, standing, reaching).
Market related salary dependant on skills and experience.
