Frogfoot is looking for an Inventory & Procurement Intern to join our Finance team and gain hands-on experience across inventory management, procurement administration, stock control, supplier coordination and reporting.

Purpose of the Role
The Inventory & Procurement Intern will provide administrative, operational and reporting support to the Procurement and Inventory function.
You'll gain practical experience in stock management, procurement processes, purchase orders, supplier administration, stocktakes, reconciliations, reporting and ERP systems, while working alongside experienced professionals.
This role is designed to develop your administrative, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills while giving you practical exposure to the day-to-day world of procurement and inventory management.
What You'll Be Doing
Inventory & Stock Management
- Assist with the daily processing and monitoring of stock requests.
- Assist with stock request approvals and related correspondence.
- Maintain and update live contractor stock sheets.
- Assist with identifying and investigating stock discrepancies.
- Assist with reconciling stock information between reports, live sheets and ERP records.
- Liaise with contractors and internal stakeholders regarding stock discrepancies and outstanding information.
- Escalate unresolved stock discrepancies to the relevant supervisor or manager.
- Assist with stocktake preparation and administration.
- Maintain accurate stock documentation and records.
Procurement Administration
- Assist with the creation of Maintenance Purchase Orders (POs).
- Assist with requisitions when required.
- Prepare and send approved POs to suppliers.
- Upload and maintain POs on the Solid ERP system.
- Ensure procurement documentation is accurate and complete.
- Maintain and update supplier information.
- Assist with resolving internal and external procurement queries.
- Follow approved procurement processes and escalate exceptions or deviations.
- Maintain an organised electronic filing system for procurement documentation.
Reporting & Reconciliation
- Assist with maintaining accurate spreadsheets, trackers and reports.
- Support stock reconciliations and investigate differences between records.
- Capture and maintain accurate procurement and inventory information.
- Assist with preparing information required for stocktakes and reporting.
- Identify missing or inconsistent information and escalate where necessary.
Stakeholder & Team Support
- Work with internal teams to resolve inventory and procurement queries.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers and contractors.
- Follow up on outstanding information and documentation.
- Support the Procurement & Stock Controller with daily activities.
- Assist the wider team during stocktakes and high-volume periods.
- Build positive working relationships across the business.
Process & Compliance
- Follow established procurement and inventory processes.
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation.
- Ensure information is captured correctly and timeously.
- Escalate issues, discrepancies and process exceptions appropriately.
- Respect company controls and never bypass established processes without the required authorisation.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, organised, accurate and excited to build a career in procurement, inventory or supply chain.
You should:
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Have completed Grade 12 / Matric.
- Have a relevant Degree or Diploma in:

- Supply Chain Management
- Procurement / Purchasing
- Logistics
- Inventory Management
- or a closely related field
- Supply Chain Management
- OR have a relevant Higher Certificate or Occupational Qualification at NQF Level 5.
- Relevant students who are currently completing an appropriate qualification may also be considered.
- Be currently unemployed.
- Not be enrolled in any MICT SETA or other SETA-funded programme.
- Have good administrative and organisational skills.
- Have strong attention to detail.
- Be comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets and reports.
- Have basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Be willing to follow established processes and procedures.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be comfortable working as part of a team.
- Have a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.
No previous formal procurement or inventory experience is required.
Computer Skills We Value
You don't need to be a technology expert — we're looking for someone who is comfortable working with computers, spreadsheets and business systems and is willing to learn.
