Investment Operations Administrator

A leading asset management business is seeking an Investment Operations Administrator to join their Centurion-based team, offering a unique opportunity to provide essential administrative support across a diverse range of investment products.

As the Investment Operations Administrator , you will play a critical role in supporting a sophisticated investment environment across Multi-Management and Asset Management portfolios. This is not just another fund admin role - it’s a specialist position focused on fund accounting, operational oversight and process improvement for a wide range of investment products, including private equity, structured products, hedge funds and more.

You’ll work closely with internal teams and external service providers to ensure the smooth execution of investment operations while identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications And Experience Required For The Investment Operations Administrator

• A BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, Investments, or a related field (essential)
• At least 5 years’ experience in investment operations or fund administration within Asset Managers, Multi-Managers, Custodian Banks or similar environments
• Proven process design experience that enables you to translate business requirements into effective operational controls
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (non-negotiable)
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, IF statements; macros)

Technical Knowledge

• Expertise in institutional investment operations and administration processes
• Familiarity with financial markets and instruments such as Structured Products, Reinsurance Agreements, Fixed Income Securities, Listed Derivatives, Hedge Funds/Fund of Hedge Funds, Corporate Actions, and Transition Management
• Strong reconciliation skills

Key Duties Of The Investment Operations Administrator

• Oversee the administration of institutional investments across multiple asset classes, including Private Equity, Fixed Income, Hedge Funds, Structured Products, and Direct Property.
• Manage cash and asset reconciliations, trade confirmations, settlements, corporate actions oversight, and OTC contract management.
• Support portfolio transitions, take-ons, disinvestments, and securities lending administration.
• Ensure operational controls and governance are maintained at all times.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve processes and drive operational change initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise in accounting principles and financial instruments to support complex investment structures.
