IsiZulu Student / New Teacher

ISIZULU TEACHER SOUGHT FOR FIRST ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE TEACHING

Rera Language School (www.rera.africa) focuses on teaching African languages in groups, private and at schools. It was created with the clear purpose of encouraging multilingualism by teaching a wide variety of African languages using a communicative approach to teach students as well as incorporate storytelling, music, games and craft for fun and to broaden cultural reference. We focus on providing individuals and schools language products and services that provide students with everything they need in their journey to fluency, teaching languages.

We are currently looking for a part-time IsiZulu First Additional Language high school teacher.

Responsibilities:

• Plan for and deliver lessons for students
• Conduct extra lessons in person and online to students after school
• Administer assessments to track student progress and analyse the data for student growth.
• Attend scheduled professional development sessions and any other training interventions.
• Demonstrate the love for teaching African languages and vested in the success of each student.
• Ability to connect with the different age groups.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Student or recently qualified B.Ed. degree
• Certification through the South African Council of Educators (SACE)
• English language fluency
• Police clearance certificate

Experience:

Student or recently qualified educators may apply as well as educators with more experience with mother tongue proficiency (speaking, reading and writing) in the language you would like to teach.
