Job description
St Stithians Boys' College is a leading South African boys' school, which constantly strives for excellence in providing a relevant and rigorous education, and for best practice in the education of boys. The College invites applications for the following position which will be available from 1 January 2027.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.
The requirements for this position are:
- Relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution; a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
- Academic experience in IEB Matric IsiZulu marking would be an advantage
- Experience in developing learning and teaching material and assessment practices according to IEB requirements and the needs of the learners
- Ability to teach IsiZulu in a multi-layered classroom
- An excellent all-round knowledge and passion for the subject
- Good organisation skills
- An ability to be flexible with a willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and an interest and ability to integrate IT into your teaching and learning and to progress the development of, and delivery of, online learning and assessment
- A passion for teaching young men who seek to become significant in a modern world
- An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team and an ability to take initiative and to act decisively
- Ability to inspire and encourage boys to seek and maintain high standards of performance
- A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
- A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
- A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school, including extra murals
Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
