ISO 14001 Project Manager – SAATCA Accredited

AA Business Consultants is seeking an experienced ISO 14001 Project Manager to join our team for a major Environmental Management System development and implementation project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and certification readiness of an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System across a large, multi-site organisation.

Minimum Requirements – MANDATORY

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences or a related environmental field.
• Current SAATCA accreditation – mandatory.
• Proven experience in ISO 14001 implementation.
• Proven experience in ISO 14001 auditing.
• Valid competency certificate in ISO 14001 interpretation and implementation.
• Valid competency certificate in ISO 14001 auditing.
• Strong practical experience in Environmental Management Systems.
• Experience conducting environmental gap assessments and compliance assessments.
• Experience with environmental aspects and impacts, environmental risks and controls.
• Strong project management and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage project deliverables and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Experience

Candidates with 7+ years of relevant ISO 14001 implementation experience will be strongly preferred.

Experience in large, multi-site, public-sector, industrial, conservation, tourism or similarly complex environments will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Lead ISO 14001 implementation activities.
• Conduct gap assessments.
• Develop and implement Environmental Management System requirements.
• Identify environmental aspects, impacts, risks and opportunities.
• Support legal and regulatory compliance evaluation.
• Develop policies, procedures, processes and controls.
• Coordinate implementation across multiple sites/functions.
• Facilitate training and awareness.
• Conduct implementation reviews and readiness assessments.
• Coordinate internal audit and corrective-action activities.
• Prepare management for certification.
• Monitor project progress, risks, deliverables and milestones.
• Prepare professional project reports for management.
