Job description
We are looking to employ an efficient, self-motivated and a promblem-solving individual as Senior IT Technician to support the IT Coordinator.
The Senior IT Technician is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, security, and support of the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security across all business systems. The role provides advanced technical support, leads infrastructure projects, and delivers excellent end-user support. This position is based in Paarl.
The successful candidate must have:

Grade 12 minimum & preferably an IT related qualification

Minimum 10 + years relevant work experience

Proven experience with:
- Windows Server & Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP
- Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, Routing & Switching
- Cybersecurity & Endpoint Protection

Excellent administrative skills, highly proficient in Excel, Word & Pdf

Preferably experienced in working on an ERP system (Qmuzik)

Strong inter-personal skills

Excellent communication skills and fluent in English to engage with international employees

Self-driven and reliable who can work under pressure and independently
The successful candidate would be responsible for:
Infrastructure & Systems
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Manage virtualization platforms, file servers, NAS storage, backup and disaster recovery solutions. Monitor system performance, availability and security.
- Perform server upgrades, migrations and infrastructure improvements.
Desktop & User Support
- Provide advanced support for Windows desktops, laptops and remote users.
- Support ERP applications and liaise with software vendors when required.
Networking
- Install, configure and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, VLANs, routing and switching.
- Support firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure and structured cabling.
- Perform network troubleshooting and optimization.
Security & Physical Systems
- Maintain endpoint security, antivirus, SIEM platforms and cybersecurity best practices.
- Support CCTV (Hikvision & Dahua), biometric, access control and alarm systems.
- Assist with vulnerability management, incident response and compliance.
Projects & Documentation
- Lead infrastructure projects, technology deployments and system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and coordinate with vendors and service providers.
