Job description

Location: Cape Town (office based)

Type: Full time

About The Role We're looking for a proactive, technically skilled IT Administrator to take ownership of all local IT infrastructure, networking, and system support. You'll be the first point of contact for anything and everything IT related, from a simple password reset to complex network or security issues, while also supporting a hybrid workforce that needs reliable remote access and responsive troubleshooting wherever they're working from.

This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, likes variety in their day, and takes pride in keeping systems secure and staff productive.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all IT related queries and issues across the business
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain office network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, cabling, Wi-Fi, and printers)
  • Provide end to end support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, both in office and remote
  • Support hybrid staff with remote access setup, VPN, and troubleshooting so they can work seamlessly from anywhere
  • Administer and support user access for core business tools, amongst others Slack, TMetric, Monday.com, Jira, and GitHub
  • Manage system backups, antivirus, endpoint protection, and patch management
  • Implement and enforce IT security protocols, including access controls and password policies
  • Ensure disaster recovery readiness and contribute to business continuity planning
  • Liaise with external vendors for advanced support, licensing, and procurement
  • Evaluate and implement new IT solutions to improve efficiency and security, including AI powered tools
  • Develop internal documentation for IT procedures and provide basic training to staff
  • Support reporting and data tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL where relevant

What We're Looking For

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in IT administration or a similar role
  • Experience working in a consultancy service environment is advantageous
  • Comfortable being the go to person for all things IT, from everyday troubleshooting to more technical issues
  • Solid working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and Office 365
  • A good understanding of AI and a willingness to embrace and support AI driven tools and workflows
  • Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools, amongst others Slack, Monday.com, Jira, or similar
  • Experience with VoIP and telephony systems is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Comfortable supporting both in office and remote colleagues
  • A clear communicator who can explain technical issues simply to non technical staff

What We Offer

  • Professional development opportunities
  • A fast paced, collaborative working environment
  • The chance to shape and improve our IT systems as we grow
