Job description
We are looking for a reliable, technically minded and proactive IT Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day IT operations of the business, ensuring that employees have the necessary systems, hardware and technical support to perform their roles effectively.
This position would suit someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with people and taking ownership of IT-related tasks in a fast-paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support to employees across the business.
- Install, configure and maintain computers, laptops, printers and other IT equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions and system credentials.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees, including setting up and disabling user accounts and equipment.
- Maintain IT asset and equipment registers.
- Assist with Microsoft 365, email and other business applications.
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure and connectivity.
- Assist with backups, antivirus and general IT security requirements.
- Perform basic system administration and software installations.
- Liaise with external IT service providers when required.
- Maintain IT documentation, procedures and records.
- Assist with IT-related projects, upgrades and system implementations.
- Ensure that company IT policies and security procedures are followed.
- Provide general technical guidance and support to staff.
Requirements
- BTech/NDip in Information Technology, Communication Networks or a related qualification
- Microsoft certification
- 5–10 years' experience in an IT support or IT administration role.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, networking and troubleshooting.
- Experience with user account and access management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A valid driver's licence would be advantageous.
Advantageous Experience
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration
- Linux administration
- Active Directory / Entra ID
- Windows Server
- Networking and Wi-Fi
- Backup systems
- Cybersecurity and endpoint protection
- IT asset management
- ERP or business management systems
- Remote support tools
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment
