About the Role

This is a hands-on field position involving the installation, configuration, commissioning and maintenance of modern IP-based electronic security and networking systems at residential, commercial and industrial sites.

You'll be working with some of the latest technologies available, including:

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission CCTV, access control, alarm and intercom systems.
• Configure IP networks, routers, managed switches, VLANs and PoE infrastructure.
• Install and configure Video Management Software (VMS), access control software and client applications.
• Configure remote viewing on smartphones, tablets and desktop computers.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and networking faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
• Produce professional documentation including job cards, commissioning certificates, installation reports and network diagrams.
• Train clients on the operation of their security systems.
• Deliver installations that meet Iron Curtain Security's exceptionally high-quality standards.
• Work closely with the Technical Manager and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in IT networking and/or electronic security installations.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking.
• Experience with routers, managed switches, PoE networking and wireless networking.
• Experience installing IP CCTV, Access Control and Alarm systems.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Experience configuring mobile applications and remote access solutions.
• Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid South African driver's licence.
• Clean criminal record.
• PSIRA registration will be advantageous.
• Ability to work at heights when required.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: R20,000 – R23,000 per month (CTC), depending on experience and qualifications.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
07:30 – 17:00

Overtime, standby duties and occasional weekend work may be required in accordance with operational requirements.
