SUMMARY: A dynamic, growth-focused organisation is seeking an experienced IT Manager to join its team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full IT function, providing both hands-on technical support and strategic leadership across all IT systems, infrastructure, and service delivery.
This role requires a proactive, solutions-driven professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where reliability, security, and continuous improvement are critical. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless day-to-day operations while also shaping the long-term IT strategy, architecture, and governance of the organisation.
The role suits a strong strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, excellent people leadership capability, and deep technical expertise across Apple/macOS environments, networking, security, and enterprise IT operations.
POSITION INFO: Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the IT function, including direct oversight, mentoring, and development of IT support staff Own end-to-end IT service delivery, including ticket resolution, escalation handling, and service desk governance Oversee daily IT operations including backups, mail flow, server health, and network\/wireless stability Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including user access, email setup, licensing, and asset allocation Ensure smooth operation of boardroom and hybrid meeting technology across platforms (plug-and-play reliability) Maintain and manage IT assets, hardware allocation, tracking, and lifecycle management Provide escalation support for complex technical issues across infrastructure, applications, and end-user environments Manage IT procurement, supplier relationships, licensing, and contract negotiations Maintain and improve cybersecurity posture, including breach prevention, monitoring, and compliance enforcement Ensure alignment with POPIA, information security standards, and internal governance requirements Oversee CCTV, access control, and internal security systems with strict confidentiality standards Conduct regular patch management across servers and critical systems Maintain up-to-date network, system, and infrastructure documentation and diagrams Support IT project delivery, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination Ensure daily technical checks of critical systems including network, servers, and connectivity Provide after-hours support when required for critical incidents or business needs IT Manager Specific Responsibilities Own IT budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking across the IT function Define and maintain IT roadmap, architecture, and long-term technology strategy Lead business-wide IT transformation initiatives, including AI adoption and digital enablement Drive ISO27001-aligned security and compliance initiatives Act as Information Officer liaison for regulatory and information governance requirements Lead supplier evaluation, procurement decisions, and cost optimisation initiatives Oversee enterprise-wide IT risk management and security posture improvements Facilitate IT training and upskilling initiatives for both technical staff and end users Ensure continuous improvement of systems, processes, and service delivery maturity Required Skills Minimum 5+ years' experience as an IT Manager with direct people management responsibility Strong expertise in Apple\/macOS, iOS, and enterprise integration with Microsoft 365 and business applications Solid networking and wireless troubleshooting experience with a focus on stability and uptime Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, POPIA compliance, and enterprise risk management Hands-on experience managing IT service desks, ticketing systems, and operational support environments Strong technical proficiency across hardware, software, licensing, and enterprise IT systems Experience managing IT budgets, procurement, and supplier relationships Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate under pressure and resolve complex issues Experience managing hybrid meeting and boardroom AV\/IT environments Strong understanding of IT asset management and lifecycle governance Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong organisational and leadership capability in fast-moving environments Desirable Skills Exposure to ISO27001 implementation or audit processes Experience with CCTV and physical security systems management Understanding of AI technologies and their impact on business operations Experience leading IT transformation or digital modernisation initiatives Project management experience in IT infrastructure or systems rollout Strong documentation skills including network and systems architecture diagrams Qualifications Industry-related Degree or Diploma, or equivalent practical IT experience 5+ years in IT Management, Infrastructure, or Senior IT Operations roles Proven track record of leading IT teams and managing enterprise IT environments Application Note If you have not received feedback within two weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.
