IT Network Technician

We are looking for a hands-on and solutions-driven IT / Network Technician to join our team in Durban.

This role is ideal for an IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, takes ownership of technical issues, and can work effectively in a fast-paced BPO / contact centre environment where system and network uptime are critical to operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line technical support to users.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops and peripheral equipment.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP issues.
• Support routers, switches, access points and network infrastructure.
• Assist with network cabling, patching and workstation installations.
• Support Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Assist with Active Directory / user account administration.
• Troubleshoot VoIP, softphone, headset and call centre telephony issues.
• Prepare and configure workstations for new employees and campaign launches.
• Maintain accurate IT asset and equipment records.
• Monitor and respond to IT incidents while ensuring minimum operational downtime.
• Escalate complex infrastructure issues where required.
• Support IT security, access control and compliance requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant IT qualification, diploma or technical certification is advantageous.
• 2–3 years' experience as an IT Technician, Network Technician, Desktop Support Technician or similar.
• Good understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi networking.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows desktops and laptops.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory / Entra ID.
• Experience with routers, switches and network infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of VoIP / telephony systems is advantageous.
• Previous experience within a BPO, contact centre, ISP, managed IT services or high-volume environment will be highly advantageous.
