Job description
We are looking for a Service Desk Engineer to provide remote technical support to clients, perform first-line troubleshooting and ensure customer queries and technical issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
The successful candidate will be customer-focused, technically capable and comfortable working in a fast-paced service desk environment where response times, accurate ticket management and clear communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support to clients
- Perform first-line troubleshooting and fault resolution
- Resolve customer queries within agreed SLA timeframes
- Log all customer requests and work performed as service tickets
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date ticket notes and time logs
- Provide clear root-cause information on technical issues
- Perform scheduled server checks
- Monitor and action allocated tickets and ticket pools
- Communicate professionally with customers by telephone and email
- Prioritise incidents and service requests appropriately
- Escalate issues when required
- Participate in standby support when requested
- Maintain professional and timely communication throughout the resolution process
- Complete required technical training and continuously develop technical knowledge
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an IT-related position
- Experience within a service desk environment would be advantageous
- A+ – Essential
- N+ – Essential
- MCSE/MCSA – Advantageous
- NSE 4 – Advantageous
Working knowledge of:
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- Servers
- Networking
- IT troubleshooting and fault finding

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Professional telephone manner
- Good email etiquette
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Accurate and timely ticket administration
