This role is suited to a senior IT leader who can translate business priorities into practical technology roadmaps, ensure reliable solution delivery, and drive service excellence across the Retail technology environment. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in enabling technology solutions that support one of South Africa’s leading health, beauty and wellness retailers. The role offers exposure to strategic technology delivery, enterprise-wide stakeholder engagement and the opportunity to influence the performance, reliability and continuous improvement of critical Retail systems.

Job Purpose
The IT Solution Delivery Manager will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery and operational performance of technology solutions supporting the Retail business. The role ensures that approved business priorities are translated into executable plans and that solutions are delivered within agreed scope, time, cost and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an IT roadmap aligned to business strategy and enterprise architecture standards.
- Partner with application portfolio managers, PMO managers and enterprise architecture teams to prioritise and sequence business requirements.
- Plan and coordinate resources across project and application teams to meet IT demand and resolve priority or capacity challenges.
- Ensure production uptime, application availability and data integrity in line with agreed service levels.
- Manage vendor relationships, contract performance and commercial delivery to ensure suppliers meet agreed service, quality and cost commitments.
- Drive best-practice solution design, systems integration, ITIL governance and SDLC disciplines across delivery and support.
- Ensure escalated incidents, queries and recurring problems are resolved within agreed timelines.
- Manage annual and monthly budget processes, identify cost-saving opportunities and execute agreed budget plans.
- Develop internal teams, partners and suppliers to build capability, improve delivery quality and support innovation.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and IT leadership to understand business needs, manage risks and identify opportunities.
Minimum requirements
Minimum Requirements
- B Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- 6–8 years’ senior IT management experience, preferably within the IT merchandise, retail or supply chain environment.
- At least 5 years’ experience managing multiple projects, project managers or complex IT programmes.
- Experience planning and managing large team workloads and activities.
- Experience managing outsourced services, vendor resources, IT application development and maintenance, and large budgets.
- Project Management certification such as PMBOK or PRINCE2 will be advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of ITIL service processes, SDLC governance and IT strategy development.
- Knowledge of retail and supply chain systems.
- Financial planning, budgeting and commercial management capability.
- Ability to simplify technical concepts and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.
- Strong people management, stakeholder engagement, influencing, negotiation, planning and organising skills.
- Commercial thinking and the ability to balance strategic and operational priorities.
