Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
- Monitor and maintain the ship's network, servers, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity.
- Provide technical support to crew members and guests.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printers, and network issues.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and system access.
- Perform regular system updates, backups, and security checks.
- Monitor cybersecurity and help protect onboard systems from threats.
- Maintain IT documentation and inventory of equipment.
- Coordinate with shore-side IT teams and technology vendors.
- Support onboard systems such as point-of-sale (POS), CCTV, telephone systems, and entertainment technology.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience in IT support, network administration, or systems administration.
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking (TCP/IP), and virtualization.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft certifications are an advantage.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are beneficial.
Pay: R40 000,00 - R60 000,00 per month
