WIL INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
IT Support / Admin Intern (Work Integrated Learning Placement)
About the Opportunity
We are offering a SETA-funded Work Integrated Learning (WIL) internship placement within our IT, Operations, and Facilities function in Cape Town.
This opportunity is strictly for currently registered students at an accredited University or University of Technology who require a mandatory WIL placement component in order to complete their studies and graduate.
CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: Applicants MUST require a WIL placement to graduate. Applications from graduates, unqualified individuals, or candidates not requiring WIL will NOT be considered.Key Focus & Responsibilities
This role focuses strictly on workplace IT support, administrative assistance, operations, and facilities coordination.
- Providing day-to-day desktop support and basic troubleshooting.
- Supporting operations, facilities, and general administrative functions across the department.
- Assisting with IT hardware/software logbooks, user support, and general office admin.
- Providing operational and technical assistance to the wider team as required.
(Note: This role focuses purely on IT support, operations, and administration. It does NOT involve coding, software development, or programming functions).
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Current Academic Enrollment: Must be currently registered at an accredited University or University of Technology (Applications from TVET colleges will NOT be accepted for this specific position).
- Qualification Focus: Studying towards an IT-related or Business/Admin-related degree/diploma (e.g., Higher Certificate / Diploma in IT Support Services, Business Administration, or similar).
- Mandatory WIL Component: Must require an official Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement to complete your studies and graduate. Must provide an official letter from your university confirming this requirement.
- SETA Eligibility: Must meet SETA funding and eligibility criteria for an Internship grant placement.
- Location / Relocation: Must be based in Cape Town OR actively willing to relocate to Cape Town with confirmed accommodation/family residing in Cape Town.
- Technical Scope: Strong interest in desktop support, IT administration, and office operations (not coding/development).
- Skills: Proactive attitude, strong willingness to learn, good communication skills, and reliability.
Placement Details & What We Offer
- Location: Cape Town, South Africa
- Type: SETA-funded WIL Internship
- Stipend: R5 000,00 per month
- Duration: Based on your institution's specific WIL logbook requirements
- Hands-on practical exposure and mentorship to fulfill all academic logbook requirements.
