IT Support Specialist – Cruise Ship

We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented IT Support Specialist to join the onboard IT team of an international cruise vessel. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day IT operations and provide technical support for computer systems, network equipment, guest technology and other IT-supported equipment onboard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-level technical support for PCs, workstations, peripherals and onboard IT equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and basic LAN/network connectivity issues.
• Assemble and configure basic network components.
• Support guest stateroom technology, including interactive TV/entertainment systems and telephone systems.
• Install, configure and replace computers, peripherals and telephones where required.
• Set up and support embarkation/check-in IT equipment.
• Log work completed and manage or review incident/support tickets.
• Provide after-hours IT support when required.

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid South African passport.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in a technical support, IT helpdesk or user-assistance position.
• Good knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Basic network troubleshooting skills, particularly LAN environments and network cabling.
• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certification is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

This is a shipboard position, and candidates must be comfortable working in an international, guest-focused environment and meeting the physical and safety requirements associated with working onboard a cruise vessel.

Pay: R35 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
