Job description
About the position:
The IT Support Specialist provides Admin, and Tier 1 and 2 IT support services to students, teaching staff and Admin staff within a fast-paced school environment.
The incumbent serves as the first point of contact to ensure a positive experience, while maintaining accurate records, supporting daily operations, and assisting with device management tasks in a Chromebook and Microsoft Intune environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Log, track, and resolve first-line technical issues, escalating where necessary.
- Provide support for Chromebooks, Google Workspace, Microsoft Intune, and the school's Management Information System (MIS).
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation while ensuring data confidentiality.
- Support daily ICT administrative functions and school operations.
- Contribute to AI-enhanced support by using AI tools responsibly, maintaining knowledge bases, and identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and coordination of student assistants where required.
The candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate).
- CompTIA A+ Certification (Required).
- Microsoft certifications preferred, e.g. MS 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, and/or MMS Azure Fundamentals.
- 3-5 years' experience in IT support (internships accepted).
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments and ChromeOS.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN topologies.
- Experience administering: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Active Directory. And Intune
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to customer service.
- Knowledge of AI tools and responsible AI practices
