IT Support Technician

About the role

WR360 is an information security practice based in Gqeberha. We work with businesses across manufacturing, financial services, insurance and legal sectors to help them manage their information security properly.

We are hiring IT Support Technicians who will handle client support requests, carry out configuration and maintenance, and see issues through to resolution, both remotely and on client sites.

You will work with our Principals, who are accountable for outcomes at specific clients. They set the direction. You carry out the work, with direct access to senior technical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound support requests via phone, WhatsApp and ticketing system
• Administer Microsoft 365, including users, licences, mailboxes, groups, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID and Intune
• Provide desktop and endpoint support, including setup, troubleshooting and reprovisioning
• Configure routers, switches and firewalls from documented instructions, including basic VLAN work
• Travel to client sites for scheduled maintenance and issues that cannot be resolved remotely
• Follow documented procedures and change instructions accurately
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers with proper documentation and context
• Maintain accurate tickets, site documentation and time records for client reporting and billing

What we require

• Demonstrable desktop support ability across Windows environments
• Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Networking fundamentals - you must be able to connect to a router or switch, enter commands, and understand IP addressing and basic VLANs
• Ability to follow instructions and work from documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication - clients are people, not tickets
• Reliable and professional - you represent WR360 every time you pick up the phone
• Valid South African driver's licence and own reliable vehicle

What is advantageous

• Prior service desk or helpdesk experience
• Any relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft MS-900, MD-102, MS-102)
• Exposure to information security concepts
• Interest in scripting, automation or AI tools
• Prior experience with Mikrotik routers and routing in general
• Prior experience with Windows Server Network Services and Group Policies

Formal qualifications are not a requirement. We care about what you can do and how you work with people. Shortlisted candidates complete a short practical exercise, such as placing a switch port into a VLAN and setting up a user in Microsoft 365.

What to expect

This is a full-time, office-based role in Gqeberha. Client site visits form part of the role. You will work alongside a small, experienced team with direct access to senior technical staff. The first three months are a probation period with monthly reviews and ongoing training. We operate structured processes and expect them to be followed.

Pay: R8 000,00 - R15 000,00 per month
