IT Systems Specialist

Role purpose

Define and support the implementation of secure, scalable and fit-for-purpose information systems for the fund's governance, financial and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business processes and document functional, technical, integration and information requirements.
• Recommend appropriate systems for finance, investment workflow, records management, reporting and organisational operations.
• Define system architecture, data flows, access controls, cybersecurity, backup, continuity and information-governance requirements.
• Support make-or-buy analysis, solution evaluation, implementation planning and vendor engagement.
• Develop the IT Systems Requirements Documentation and contribute to go-live readiness criteria.
• Support system configuration, testing, user adoption and transition into operational use where required.

Minimum qualification

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a National Diploma in Information Technology. Relevant professional certifications, such as Microsoft, Cisco or SAP, are advantageous; NQF Level 8 plus certification is preferred.

Required specialist experience

• Demonstrated experience in business systems analysis, solution architecture, systems implementation or digital operating-model design.
• Experience implementing finance, workflow, records, reporting or enterprise systems in public or regulated environments.
• Strong preference will be given to applicants who can evidence five or more comparable completed assignments.

Knowledge and competencies

• Sound knowledge of systems implementation, information governance, records management, cybersecurity, integration, data protection and business continuity.
• Experience working with government departments, public entities and/or regulated private-sector institutions.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, manage deadlines and produce high-quality written deliverables.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder-engagement, communication and report-writing capability.
• Availability to remain engaged for the required assignment period and to commence promptly when appointed.
