💰 Salary: Probation – R25,000 per month | Permanent Salary – R31,000 to R45,000 per month (Negotiable based on qualifications, experience, and expertise)

We are seeking a highly experienced, innovative, and security-conscious IT Department Team Leader to lead our technology division. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure, systems integration, technical support, and the secure management of financial technology solutions.
As our systems process sensitive financial information, client data, payroll information, collections data, and business-critical transactions, cybersecurity, compliance, fraud prevention, and information security are essential components of this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Department Management
• Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the IT team.
• Set departmental goals, performance standards, and project deadlines.
• Organize workflow and allocate resources effectively.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Provide regular reports and updates to Executive Management and Directors.
• Manage departmental planning and resource allocation.
• Oversee all IT operations and ensure maximum system availability and performance.
• Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and technology best practices.
Software Development & Systems Management
• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of company software solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, programmers, analysts, and designers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure software products meet business requirements, industry standards, and security requirements.
• Manage full-stack development initiatives including frontend, backend, APIs, and database architecture.
• Oversee integrations between internal and third-party systems.
• Conduct code reviews and implement software quality assurance standards.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
• Train users on newly developed systems and applications.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
Financial Systems & FinTech Management
• Lead the development and maintenance of financial systems, loan management systems, payroll systems, collections systems, and customer management platforms.
• Ensure financial systems maintain high levels of security, accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
• Implement controls to prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, data manipulation, and financial losses.
• Monitor transaction integrity and investigate system anomalies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and internal controls.
Cybersecurity & Information Security
• Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s cybersecurity framework.
• Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
• Protect company systems, client data, employee information, and financial records from cyber threats.
• Manage endpoint security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security monitoring tools.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits.
• Lead incident response investigations and cybersecurity remediation efforts.
• Implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and encryption standards.
• Conduct cybersecurity awareness and training programmes for employees.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Ensure secure software development practices (Secure SDLC and DevSecOps).
Infrastructure & Technical Operations
• Manage servers, databases, cloud environments, networks, and business applications.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
• Oversee backups, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity planning.
• Ensure infrastructure scalability and operational efficiency.
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting across all departments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Candidates holding a National Diploma in Information Technology or a related field may also be considered, provided they possess relevant industry-recognized certifications and demonstrable experience in software development, cybersecurity, cloud computing, systems administration, or financial technology systems.

• Minimum 10 years of Information Technology experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Team Leader, IT Manager, Senior Developer, Cybersecurity Lead, or Technical Leadership role.
• Proven experience leading software development and IT operations teams.
• Proven experience managing financial systems, fintech platforms, enterprise applications, payment systems, collections systems, payroll systems, or other business-critical platforms.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity governance, risk management, information security management, secure software development, and data protection compliance.
• Demonstrable experience in full-stack development, systems architecture, cloud technologies, infrastructure management, and enterprise system integrations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
