IT Technician

The TAH Support office forms part of TAH (The Animal Hospital & Vetshop), a growing network of veterinary practices dedicated to creating happy clients, healthy pets, and engaged employees. We are looking for a proactive and service-driven IT Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organisation's IT infrastructure while delivering high-quality technical support to users across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our systems remain secure, reliable, and efficient so that our teams can continue delivering exceptional care to pets and their owners.

Responsibilities:

• Provide first and second-line technical support to users across the business.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and other peripherals.
• Support and administer Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points and firewalls.
• Perform system updates, patch management, backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor endpoint security and support cybersecurity best practices.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls.
• Maintain accurate IT asset registers and technical documentation.
• Assist with network troubleshooting, connectivity issues and performance optimisation.
• Deliver professional, customer-focused support and escalate complex technical issues when required.

Requirements and skills:

Education: Grade 12, Relevant IT qualification (A+, N+, Diploma, Degree or equivalent experience).

Work Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in an IT Support or IT Technician role

Work Experience: Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 / Office 365, Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs), Hardware troubleshooting and repairs, Printer and peripheral support, Backup and recovery solutions, Endpoint security solutions
