BUILD YOUR CAREER IN INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS, IMPORTS & EXPORTS

Are you an organised, detail-driven logistics professional looking to take the next step in your career?

I am currently recruiting for a Junior Import & Export Logistics Coordinator to join my clients team and play an important role in coordinating international shipments across air, sea and road freight.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with approximately 1–3 years' practical logistics, freight, shipping or import/export experience who is eager to develop deeper expertise in customs, international trade and compliance.

You will gain exposure to the full international logistics process while developing the skills required to become a strong import/export and customs professional.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Import & Export Operations

  • Coordinate and administer international import and export shipments.
  • Book cargo for air, sea and road freight.
  • Prepare shipping instructions and coordinate inbound and outbound cargo movements.
  • Track and monitor shipments and provide regular updates.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, shipping lines, airlines and transport providers.
  • Obtain and compare freight quotations.
  • Assist with resolving shipment delays and documentation queries.
  • Communicate shipment status with customers and internal stakeholders.

Shipping & Customs Documentation

Prepare, process and verify international shipping and customs-related documentation, including:

  • Commercial invoices
  • Packing lists
  • Bills of lading
  • Airway bills
  • Certificates of origin
  • Shipping instructions
  • Import and export documentation
  • Customs supporting documentation
  • Import and export permits
  • Transport documentation
  • Cargo and shipment records

You will be expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, document control and record keeping.

International Trade & Customs Development

A key part of this position is developing your practical knowledge and capability in:

  • Incoterms
  • Customs processes and documentation
  • HS tariff codes and classification
  • Customs valuation
  • Import duties and taxes
  • Import and export permits
  • Trade compliance
  • Importer and exporter requirements
  • Clearing and forwarding processes

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Approximately 1–3 years' practical experience in logistics, freight, shipping or import/export administration.
  • Practical exposure to international shipment coordination.
  • Experience preparing, processing or verifying shipping documentation.
  • Basic working knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Exposure to air, sea and/or road freight.
  • Experience liaising with logistics service providers.
  • Strong administration and document-control skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • Professional, trustworthy and able to work independently and as part of a team.
