Job description
This role is ideal for a candidate who has successfully completed their articles and is looking to grow within a dynamic property development and construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare VAT calculations and statutory submissions.
- Assist with annual audits and provide audit support documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and applicable legislation.
- Prepare financial analyses and reports for management.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury-related functions.
- Review and reconcile debtor and creditor accounts.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and accounting processes.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide financial support and guidance.
- Perform any other accounting and finance-related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, or an equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles (essential).
- Minimum 2–5 years' accounting experience (including articles) will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of South African accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
