Job Advertisement: Junior Accountant (12-Month Contract)
Position: Junior Accountant
Location: East London, Eastern Cape
Contract: Fixed-Term (12 Months)
Remuneration: R8,000 per month
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Junior Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to gain practical accounting experience in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Capture and process financial transactions accurately.
* Perform bank and account reconciliations.
* Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
* Process supplier invoices and prepare payment schedules.
* Assist with month-end financial reporting and reconciliations.
* Maintain accurate accounting records and filing systems.
* Prepare journals and assist with general ledger maintenance.
* Support payroll and statutory compliance processes where required.
* Assist with VAT and other regulatory submissions.
* Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial queries.
* Perform any other accounting, finance, or administrative duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
* Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* 1–2 years’ accounting experience will be advantageous.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Experience with accounting software will be an advantage.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
