We are currently in search of a Junior Accountant. The position requires the successful candidate to form an important part of the diversely talented, highly experienced team and work at the forefront of high-profile transactions, delivering high quality advice to our clients.

Minimum Requirements

• South African citizen
• Valid Drivers License as Occasional Travel maybe required
• Strong Relationship Building Skills with Internal and External Stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and under pressure as this a deadline driven role
• Excellent Communication Skills
• A completed BCom Degree and/or Completed SAIPA/SAICA Articles
• 1-2 years of Accounting Experience
• Xero Experience: Reconciling Age Payables - Required
• Hubdoc Experience – Advantageous
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel

Duties and Responsibilities

Accurate coding and supporting documentation completeness:

• Capture and categorise invoices, bills, and expenses in Hubdoc and Xero with correct VAT treatment and references.
• Reconciling Age Payables on Xero

Preparation of Basic Reconciliations and Steady Reduction of Repeat Review Notes:

• Ensuring recons are prepared within the required standards.
• Allocate bank transactions, resolve unmatched items, and identify duplicates or incorrect allocations
• Prepare basic reconciliations (bank, petty cash, simple clearing accounts) with clear workpapers and explanations.
• Maintain tidy ledgers: correct contacts, references, and attachments.
• Escalate uncertainties early (VAT treatment, owner transactions, unusual items).

Internal and External Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Providing active support to the Senior Accountant.
• Assisting in Accounting Admin related tasks.
• Supporting the Senior Accountant with onsite client visits
