About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Trainee Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this entry-level role, you will primarily assist with financial record keeping, reporting, and various accounting tasks, providing essential support to our accounting operations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Help reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Support the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices.
- Assist with payroll processing and related documentation.
- Provide administrative support to senior accountants, including data entry and filing.
- Collaborate with team members on month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- A relevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Demonstrable experience with basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage or Pastel is a plus.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance is desirable.
- Willingness to obtain further accounting certifications (e.g., SAIPA, ACCA) in the future.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and self-improvement.
