Accountant – Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective financial control. This role oversees daily accounting functions, financial reporting, tax compliance, and cash flow management while supporting the business with accurate financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage debtors and creditors, including invoicing, reconciliations, collections, and supplier payments.
- Oversee bank, creditor, debtor, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain monthly trial balances and management accounts.
- Manage VAT calculations, reconciliations, and submissions.
- Submit statutory returns through SARS eFiling, including VAT, PAYE, UIF, and SDL.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
- Prepare documentation for audits and liaise with auditors and SARS when required.
- Process journals, month-end adjustments, and year-end accounting procedures.
- Ensure effective financial controls and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, debtors, creditors, VAT, and tax administration.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of SARS eFiling and South African tax legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Pay: R25 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
