JUNIOR ANALYST X2 RETIREMENT FUNDS: TRANSFERS AND TERMINATION DEPARTMENT

Job description
Purpose of the Job:
To regulate and supervise retirement funds through monitoring compliance with the Pension Funds Act, Regulations, Conditions and Financial Sector Conduct Authority’s (FSCA) policy to safeguard the interest of both the members of the funds and funds through the analysis of financial statements, statistics, and reports; supervision of liquidations; extensions and exemptions related thereto. The persons appointed to the position will report to the Manager.
Key Performance Areas:
- Evaluating and analyzing financial statements of termination retirement funds.
- Ensuring that legislation and the rules of funds are complied with when appointing liquidator.
- Assisting the Manager and HOD with ad-hoc requests.
- Dealing with the administration and analysis of applications for extensions and exemptions.
- Dealing with various liquidation correspondence, follow-ups and other administration functions.
- Undertaking projects at the request of the Manager or HOD; and
- Assisting with the general regulation of Retirement Funds in as far as the termination and liquidation of termination of retirement funds is concerned.
Other Key Competencies:
The candidates must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: An excellent command of both spoken and written English and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and computerised workflow systems, report writing, numeric, verbal and analytical skills; The candidate must be able to plan independently and be deadline driven, ability to work effectively, independently and in a team. The applicant must be willing to learn from others and transfer knowledge and skills to colleagues. A strong commitment to enhancing outcomes for retirement fund members and their dependants, combined with the energy, initiative, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills necessary to achieve these goals effectively.

A graduate with a BCom Degree and up to 1 year working experience. Candidates with good knowledge and exposure to the financial sector, as well as a good understanding of the Pension Funds Act of 1956 will have an advantage.
