Benoni, Gauteng
Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive Junior Assistant to join our creative team. This is an excellent entry-level position for someone looking to build a career in digital marketing, graphic design, and e-commerce operations.
In this role, you will work closely with our lead designer to handle day-to-day administrative, creative, and operational tasks. While you will be handling repetitive and highly structured work, you will gain hands-on experience across e-commerce management, digital design workflows, and social media operations.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design Support (Canva): Create engaging social media posts, web banners, and basic promotional assets based on creative briefs and established brand templates. (This will be your primary focus, freeing up the team for larger print/catalogue projects).
Asset Management & Content Support: Organize, rename, and catalog design assets so files are structured and easy to locate. Handle resizing of images for various digital platforms and proofread copy for accuracy before publication.
E-commerce Product Maintenance: Maintain our WooCommerce product catalogue. This includes uploading new products, editing copy/descriptions, managing product categories, and uploading appropriate images.
Spreadsheets & Data Administration: Clean up product data, manage pricing sheets, and update stock lists in Excel based on clear, structured rules.
Social Media Coordination: Queue and schedule pre-approved content across platforms. Monitor channels to respond to basic comments and direct messages to keep the community engaged.
Requirements & Key Skills
Competency in Canva: You should be comfortable navigating Canva and able to cleanly execute basic designs from a brief.
Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented: A strong focus on accuracy is essential—especially when it comes to organizing files, proofreading, and managing e-commerce data.
Basic Excel Skills: Comfortable working with tables, sorting data, and working within structured rules-based sheets.
Tech-Savvy & Willing to Learn: No prior website coding experience is required, but you should be comfortable learning how to navigate the backend of WooCommerce (training will be provided).
Good Communication Skills: Strong written communication for basic copywriting, proofreading, and customer interactions on social media.
Candidates must live close to the job location and have their own reliable transport.
What We Offer
Direct mentorship from an experienced creative designer.
Hands-on experience with industry-standard digital tools (WooCommerce, Excel, scheduling platforms).
A structured, supportive environment to grow your digital and design skill set.
