Junior Assistant Manager – Talisman Plant & Tool Hire (Blackheath)
Location: Blackheath, Western Cape
Salary: Market-related (based on experience)
About the Role
Talisman Plant & Tool Hire is seeking a reliable and hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily operations at our Blackheath branch. This role requires someone who can oversee the floor, assist customers, and coordinate the dispatch of equipment using company vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily branch and floor operations
- Supervise staff and ensure efficient workflow and service delivery
- Support walk-in customers and handle queries professionally
- Coordinate and dispatch deliveries and collections using company vehicles
- Plan and schedule deliveries to ensure timely service
- Ensure all equipment is correctly prepared, checked, and loaded for dispatch
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and shop floor
- Assist with stock control and equipment tracking
- Enforce company procedures and health & safety standards
- Support the Branch Manager when required
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) – essential
- 2–5 years’ experience in a supervisory or similar role
- Experience in plant hire, logistics, or a related environment advantageous
- Valid driver’s license (essential)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Good planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate (MS Office / basic systems)
- Must be based in or near Blackheath
