Job Purpose:

To support the procurement function by sourcing, ordering, and tracking building materials, ensuring timely stock availability and assisting in maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing and purchasing building materials (e.g., Tiles, Paints).
• Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and on time.
• Follow up with suppliers on orders, deliveries, and lead times.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate with warehouse and sales teams regarding replenishment needs.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information.
• Assist in price comparisons and cost analysis.
• Support negotiations with suppliers under the guidance of the Senior Buyer.
• Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and procedures.
• Resolve basic supplier queries and escalate complex issues when necessary.
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance.
• Coordinate with finance for invoice matching and payment processing.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Diploma or studying towards a qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business Management (advantageous).
• 1–2 years’ experience in procurement, administration, or a related role (internship experience acceptable).
• Basic understanding of procurement and stock management processes.

Skills and Competencies:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic negotiation and analytical skills.
• Good organizational and time management ability.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic systems.
