Junior CNC Mill/ Lathe Programmer / Operator
Location: Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal Company: Tigre Solutions (Packaging Automation Machinery)
Tigre Solutions is expanding our technical team and looking for a motivated Junior CNC Mill/Lathe Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing division. This role is ideal for someone with foundational machining knowledge who wants to grow into a skilled CNC programmer within a fast‑paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling and/or turning machines for daily production
- Assist with CNC programming
- Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to job requirements
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
- Perform quality checks using measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
- Maintain machine cleanliness, safety, and basic preventative maintenance
- Support senior machinists and programmers with ongoing projects
Minimum Requirements
- CNC machining experience (training or apprenticeship acceptable)
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Understanding of machining principles, feeds, speeds, and tooling
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a production environment
Advantageous Skills
- Exposure to CAD/CAM software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, Mastercam, etc.)
- Experience with Fanuc / Syntec controls
- Previous work in a manufacturing or engineering workshop
