Key Job Outputs:
- In depth knowledge of cold chain processes within a pharmaceutical warehouse.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and distribution of temperature-sensitive products (2–8°C, frozen)
- Conduct root cause investigations for temperature excursions.
- Review and approve cold chain-related records.
- Maintenance of SOPs: creating, updating and implementation of SOPs.
- Management of warehouse deviations including tracking and ensuring successful closure of deviations.
- Implementation of warehouse CAPAs including tracking and ensuring successful implementations of CAPAs.
- Management of warehouse change control including tracking.
- Training warehouse staff.
- Conducting self-inspections.
- Co-ordinating cold chain validation projects.
- Cold chain Temperature monitoring and managing temperature out of specifications.
- Co-ordination calibration of all cold chain equipment.
- Co-ordinating the sampling process in the cold chain environment
- Destruction of goods and supervision of destruction for cold chain stock.
- Performing stock investigations.
- Initiating risk assessments for the warehouse.
- Participating in Quality Management Reviews.
- Co-ordinating warehouse projects.
- Ensuring warehouse readiness for all audits (SAHPRA, SAPC)
- Support quality agreements with principals.
- Assist during stock count bi-annually
- Compile compliance and stock reports on a regular basis.
- Performing QA tasks as delegated to you by the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Performing any other task as delegated to you by the National Distribution Pharmacist and/or Responsible Pharmacist.
Core Competencies:
- Understanding of Warehouse & Distribution Procedures & Scope of operation
- The capacity to understand site compliances aligned to pharmaceutical environment and with this learning, apply this knowledge in a practical manner.
- Team player
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
- GWP/GDP training is essential.
- Preferably +6 months – 1 year QA/Operations experience
- Knowledge of Validation Protocols preferable
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
Required Learning:
- BPharm Degree
- Minimum of 6 months post Community Service relevant experience
- Experience within a pharmaceutical distribution/wholesale environment would be an advantage
- Active Membership with SAPC (South African Pharmacy Council)
- Valid driver’s license
