Junior Data Scientist

Job Description

• We are looking for a motivated Junior Data Scientist to assist with database administration, reporting, and automation at our office in Hazelwood, Pretoria. The successful candidate will work with Power BI, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and Python to support reporting, data maintenance, and business operations. Experience is beneficial but not required, willingness to learn is essential!

Key Performance Areas (Duties & Responsibilities):

• Create, maintain, and improve Power BI reports and dashboards
• Work with SQL databases using SSMS, including querying, data cleaning, and stored procedures
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and automations
• Monitor and maintain company databases and data flows
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting systems and database information
• Reconcile stock and other business data as required
• Provide reporting and data support to various departments

Requirements:

• Grade 12 qualification
• Valid driver’s license
• A Qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or related field

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic understanding of SQL, Power BI, and Python
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Organised, proactive, and willing to learn
• Positive work ethic and attention to detail
• Good computer literacy

Experience:

• 0–1 years’ experience in Python, Power BI, or SQL/SSMS is advantageous but not required

Pay: From R20 000,00 per month
