Are you passionate about diesel mechanics and looking to build your career with a leading heavy equipment company?
GHM is seeking Junior Diesel Mechanic Assistants to join our Cape Town Branch on a fixed-term contract . This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on heavy equipment.
- Support technicians with fault-finding and basic troubleshooting.
- Conduct inspections and report any defects or abnormalities.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment.
- Complete basic job cards and service reports.
- Adhere to company health, safety and quality standards.
- Assist senior technicians with day-to-day workshop activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Technical Certificate or NQF Qualification in Diesel Mechanics, Mechanical, Electrical or a related field.
- 0–2 years' technical or maintenance experience.
- Basic understanding of machinery, tools and workshop practices.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and committed to working safely.
