Junior DTP Operator - Midrand

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Junior DTP Operator for their Head Office. The Junior DTP Operator is responsible for supporting the preparation, adaptation and production of artwork across marketing, promotional, retail and internal communication requirements. The role assists with artwork updates, versioning, formatting and production preparation to ensure artwork is accurately prepared and delivered in accordance with production requirements, quality standards and deadlines.

Minimum Requirements…

• Matric required.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a DTP, artwork production or print production environment.

Advantageous:

• Qualification in Graphic Design, DTP or related field advantageous.
• Retail, POS or promotional artwork experience advantageous.

Job Specification…

Artwork preparation and adaptation

• Prepare, adapt and update artwork for marketing campaigns, promotions, retail environments and internal communication requirements.
• Resize, version and amend artwork for various formats and specifications.
• Ensure artwork is correctly formatted according to approved templates and production requirements.
• Support preparation of print-ready files for production and supplier requirements.

Production support

• Support the preparation and management of artwork through the production workflow.
• Assist with quality checks to ensure artwork aligns to approved specifications and requirements.
• Escalate artwork issues, missing information or technical concerns where required.
• Support delivery of artwork according to agreed production schedules and deadlines.

Stakeholder alignment and workflow management

• Collaborate with Creative Studio, Marketing stakeholders and agency partners in support of artwork production requirements.
• Assist with implementing approved artwork changes and updates.
• Update workflow systems and job tracking information.
• Maintain accurate records of assigned artwork and production tasks

Key Competencies

Domain expertise

• DTP and artwork adaptation capability.
• Understanding of print production requirements, artwork formatting and file preparation.
• Strong attention to detail, file management and version control.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite advantageous.

Leadership & commercial acumen

• Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet production deadlines.
• Teamwork and collaboration across Print Production, Creative Studio and Marketing stakeholders.
• Proactive escalation of missing information, technical concerns or workflow risks.

• Artwork accuracy: Assigned artwork updates and adaptations are completed accurately.
• Timelines: Assigned work is completed within agreed production deadlines.
• Production readiness: Files are prepared according to approved specifications and standards.

• Error reduction: Minimal artwork errors or production issues on assigned work.
