Junior E-Commerce Product Listing Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Junior E-Commerce Product Listing Assistant to help us create, upload and maintain product listings across our Shopify website and online marketplaces, including Takealot, Makro and Amazon.

You will work from supplier and manufacturer information, product specifications, images and established content guidelines to create accurate, clear and consistent product listings.

Responsibilities:

• Create and update product listings for our Shopify website.
• Upload and maintain products on Takealot, Makro, Amazon and other marketplaces as we expand.
• Write clear and easy-to-understand product descriptions based on supplier and manufacturer information.
• Prepare product features, specifications, benefits and other product information.
• Enter product titles, SKUs, brands, categories and other product details accurately.
• Upload and organise product images.
• Follow established SEO and content guidelines when preparing product listings.
• Enter SEO titles, meta descriptions and other SEO information according to instructions.
• Research products and gather additional information when required.
• Adapt product information to meet the requirements and formatting of different marketplaces.
• Proofread listings and check for spelling, grammar, formatting and accuracy.
• Identify missing or unclear information and raise questions rather than making assumptions.
• Update existing product listings when product information changes.
• Maintain consistency across our online product catalogue.
• Work efficiently through multiple product listings while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Non-negotiable Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience using Shopify, Takealot and other online marketplaces.
• Excellent written English and good grammar.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good computer skills and confidence working with online systems.
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets and product information.
• Good internet research skills.
• Able to work accurately with detailed and sometimes technical product information.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Basic understanding of SEO is an advantage.
• Must have own reliable transport and live within a reasonable distance of Germiston.

Qualifications:

• Matric / Grade 12 required.
• A qualification or certificate in E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Marketing or a related field would be an advantage.
