Job description
Fleet Controller – Junior to Mid-Level
An established bulk transport company based in Kempton Park is looking for a motivated Fleet Controller to join our operations team.
This position is ideally suited to a young, energetic Fleet Controller with 2–3 years' experience managing Code 14 trucks in a long-distance and local transport environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2–3 years' proven experience as a Fleet Controller.
- Experience controlling 15+ heavy vehicles.
- Experience in long-distance and local transport operations.
- Exposure to the dry-bulk or liquid-bulk transport industry will be advantageous.
- Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced transport environment.
- Computer literate with experience on transport management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and monitor daily loads and vehicle movements.
- Manage driver shifts, performance and compliance.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding loads and vehicle progress.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and availability with the workshop.
- Monitor fleet performance, fuel consumption and operational efficiency.
- Ensure accurate completion and control of transport documentation.
Important:
This position is intended for candidates with 2–3 years' Fleet Controller experience. Applicants with no fleet control experience or salary expectations substantially above market-related levels need not apply.
