Job description
We are looking for a Junior Health and Safety Officer to join our team based in Alberton.
(Manufacturing and Construction)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Train employees in occupational health and safety procedures,
- Compile and present project and site-specific Health and Safety files in accordance with manufacturing and construction regulations,
- Assist management with Implementing, Monitoring and auditing the H&S system at company and project sites,
- Investigates incidents to ensure safe and healthy working conditions,
- Administer Injury on duty claims,
- Administration of Health and Safety related matters,
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation,
- Participate in internal and external audits.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- SAMTRAC qualification aligned with level 5.
- Candidate Registration at South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
- Valid certification for HIRA, Legal Liability, Accident and Investigation.
- Knowledge in safety regulations (manufacturing and construction.)
- Experience in construction and manufacturing health and safety management
- Exceptional administrative skills with proficiency in compiling an electronic records keeping system.
- Ability to deal with confidential information.
- Skilled in Planning, organizing, prioritizing and Time management
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Valid driver’s licence with reliable vehicle.
- Reliable transport to work and a valid driver’s licence. Willing to travel and to work after normal hours that may include Saturdays and public holidays.
- Must have clear criminal record and excellent reference – track record.
Pay: R9 627,65 - R20 000,00 per month
